Story time! 📖 Where did AAI begin?

AAI’s first AmeriCorps class (2015-2016) Executive Director Megan Strauss on the left.

Alpine Achievers Initiative began with a teacher in Saguache, Colorado. This teacher recognized many students were struggling academically but not receiving the support they needed due to their limited financial backgrounds and insufficient options available for structured out-of-school activities. The teacher was inspired to make a difference in the lives of her precious students, starting small but growing an organization that expanded to several towns and programs.

Today, AAI reaches across the San Luis Valley and north to Fairplay, Colorado, providing academic support for struggling students, after-school activities, outdoor adventures, homeschool programming, and more.

Please donate today to help us continue our mission for another ten years!
