AAI is recruiting for our August 2026 cohort, with placements across schools, after-school programs, and youth-serving organizations in the San Luis Valley and Chaffee County. These positions are general placement roles — site assignments are finalized closer to the start of service based on program needs and member strengths.

In order to be considered for the program, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Be at least 20 years of age at the start of the program (age waiver required for individuals younger than 20)
  • Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. National, or legal permanent resident alien of the United States
  • Have a high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Be able to pass federal, state, and National Sex Offender background checks
  • Live in AAI-provided housing, which does not accommodate other family members, friends, or pets
  • A reliable vehicle, car insurance, and a driver’s license strongly recommended
