Making the Best of the Quarantine

There are many resources available, virtual and in-person, that can assist with filling the gap that was created during school closures. Below you will find some resources that we recommend to help keep your family healthy and engaged, making the best of the quarantine.

Learning Resources

The Green Screen is a way for our AmeriCorps Members to connect with kids in our community through fun, engaging videos. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the month of April we will release a new Green Screen video on our Facebook and YouTube pages.

The Lotus Learning Pond is offering great videos that include guided child meditations, yoga and wonderful content for kiddos at home.

Take a tour of mars! Access Mars lets you explore a 3D replica of the Martian surface, exactly as it was recorded by the Curiosity rover.

Creede Repertory Theatre Live Programs The Creede Repertory Theatre will be providing content every week for kids including book readings, live theatre day camps, and more!

Staying Active

Cosmic Kids Yoga Interactive adventures which build strength, balance and confidence – and get kids into yoga and mindfulness early!

GoNoodle® engages 14 million kids every month with movement and mindfulness videos created by child development experts. Available for free at school, home, and everywhere kids are!

Spend time outside!  We will most likely be socially distancing and self-isolating for the next few weeks to months. It is not feasible or healthy to spend all of this time inside. So, by all means, get outside and breath in the fresh air. The outdoors is the original gym, and many people overlook the fact that many machines in a gym are designed to replicate movement that can be done in your local park.
